How long does it take & What happens Overseas upon arrival?
Student Freight will normally book in your shipment and give you details as to when you can expect your goods to arrive Overseas.
Once your shipment arrives the Airline or Shipping Agent should get in contact you.
Should you send your goods door to door then there will be no charges to pay at the destination excluding Duties/Taxes that may be applicable by the local authorities.
Should you have send it to the Airport to Airport or Wharf to Wharf then they there will be import arrival charges. Each country, Airline and Shipping line has different charges so it is hard to know exactly what they will charge upon collecting your goods.
These charges are determined by local Governments not STUDENT FREIGHT. Excludes any arrival fees and any customs formalities.
Also if you have sent your goods Airport to Airport or Wharf to Wharf you will be responsible to clear your shipment with customs at the destination as quickly as possible.
Each country is different with their customs procedures usually you will need to declare to a customs officer what has been sent.
If you goods are personal effects and are older than 12 months then there shouldn’t be any Duties or taxes applicable but please note that customs may want proof of purchase.
Also check with the airline or shipping line about storage as each country, airline and shipping line are different and some of they may only offer a certain amount of hours before storage is incurred.
You must act quickly once goods arrive and make this your immediate priority to avoid STORAGE charges. Some International Airports only allow 24 hours FREETIME!
